Step 2: We
present a plan to build a site based on the initial consultation.
First, the site must be hosted on a web server,
which is simply a computer that can talk to all the other computers people
connect to when surfing the web. This is like renting a lot
("hosting") where you would build a house (the text and picture files that
make up your web site).
Also, we would set up a "domain name" based
on your brand and/or business name that people could use to get to your
site. This would be like "Kentropolis.Com" or
"RegalSchoolOfDriving.Com" and is simply a name that points to the place the
files for your site are stored on our server.
This is where you hand us a check for a year's hosting,
which includes the registration fee for the domain name, so we can get
started. We host commercial sites for a total of $240.00 per
year, which also includes a full email system, site traffic
statistics to know how many people are visiting your site, and other
capabilities for use and expansion. Details on hosting can be found
HERE.
Smaller sites do not require a deposit for the web site
development end of the deal.
Step 3: Within a specified
time, usually well under 30 days, we show you a nearly-completed web site
that we can review and discuss. We determine any changes, additions,
or deletions that need to be made.
You pay us for the site development, and then we promptly
finish the site and make it go live after all changes have been made.
This also includes priming the site for a good search engine listing, and we
handle submitting the site to all widely-used search engines for you. A
typical commercial site is $1120.00, but this price may vary
and is discussed and agreed up-front, before the work begins.
