Hamburg Garden Walk

A simple, single page done gratis for two years, plus a simple photo gallery the second year.  In 2011, the committee took over the site internally as an expanded project.

Convoy of Care

A worthy cause an associate of mine was involved with, I took on giving Convoy of Care the web presence it deserved without touching their limited budget. Convoy of Care was a yearly summer event in the 90s and early 00s, a parade of tractor-trailors and other vehicles giving rides to handicapped and terminally ill children. The route took them around the Dunkirk / Silver Creek area, and truckers with their ears on would hear about it and detour at the last moment to join in. And I got to use a bullhorn.

Parsley Magazine

Lee Spratling discovered the wonder of an alkaline diet during her battle with cancer and decided to share her knowledge and recipes with the world as a magazine.  I helped her translate the magazine concept into today’s media, namely a blog format.  Using a customized existing WordPress Theme, entering drafted articles, and a bit of tutoring, Lee added content at will in a pleasing, informative web experience.  The project was left to expire after changes in personal priorities.

The Erie County Fair

One of the largest county fairs in North America, Kentropolis provided the Erie County Agricultural Society with its first professional website.  It was an uphill battle to create a cohesive online plan between multiple entities and offices within the organization, having to represent the Society, the Fairgrounds, and the yearly event itself.  The for-profit entity, Buffalo Raceway, was excluded from the project.

Being one of my earliest projects, the site did its job well but lacked higher end capabilities that I was not ready to provide at that time.  The following year, the site was passed to one of their existing corporate sponsors, a major telecommunications company.  My wife and I have been members of the ECAS for many of the years since .
